The National Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve growth of Net Sales year over year. The National Sales Manager will lead the nationwide sales team members to achieve sales targets and establish excellent, long-term relationships with key accounts. The National Sales Manager is expected to use creativity and a thorough knowledge of sales processes to provide innovative ideas for business growth. Communication and team management skills are also essential for this position. Ultimately, the National Sales Manager should aspire to develop and maintain successful relationships with all existing and potential customers nationwide while leading a highly motivated, successful sales team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Lead a high performing nationwide sales team members to achieve sales targets by providing strong mentorship, coaching and guidance.
- Provide support to large, key accounts.
- Negotiate and close agreements with potential and existing accounts, while working closely with Managing Director.
- Work closely with Managing Director to lead business development strategies; finding new growth opportunities and forming strategic partnerships that open new markets.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements, and assistance with account planning.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual accurate sales forecasts.
- Manage, monitor and plan the co-op budget for growth of AOR accounts. Monitor co-op initiatives to ensure ROI and make suggestions and changes to sales team as needed for new or improved initiatives ensure ROI.
- Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs.
- Liaise with the Marketing department to ensure brand consistency.
- Provide consistent, valuable feedback to Marketing team on industry climate, competitor activities, innovation in packaging, delivery formats and trending products.
- Ensure sales team is effectively promoting new marketing initiatives.
- Stay up to date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board.
- Ensure sales team is up to date on all label changes, product changes, Health Canada changes and out of stock ETA’s.
- Travel to tradeshows and accounts for visits on an as needed basis.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- BSc degree in Sales, Business Administration or relevant field
- Proven work experience as a Sales Manager, preferably selling Natural Health Products (NHP’s) with strong leadership capabilities.
- Written and verbal French language fluency is considered an asset.
- Experience managing a high-performance sales team
- Proven sales track record
- Knowledge of Salesforce software and Microsoft Office Suite
- An ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics
- Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
- Strong communication and team management skills
- Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude
- High degree of availability for travel as needed
