Responsibilities
Kwadacha Nation is seeking an Advanced First Aid (formerly OFA Level 3) attendant to support our remote land-based healing camp located in the heart of the Rocky Mountain trench. This role will be based in the camp for the duration of their rotation (to de discussed and decided collaboratively with the successful candidate(s)) sometime during the program which will run from July 06, 2025, to August 5, 2025 (6 weeks). As a member of Kwadacha’s support team, the AFA provides onsite first aid services and support at a camp setting tending to both urgent and non-urgent medical needs. As the AFA attendant, responsibilities include the use of skills and expertise to provide:
- Emergency response
- Medical assessment
- Primary health care
- Injury prevention
- Assistance in emergency medical evacuations as needed.
- Conducting routine checks and completing any necessary reporting as per WorkSafeBC Standards.
- Establish healthy boundaries with community members and act as a role model for healthy living.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid British Columbia AFA/OFA3 Certificate
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search, and reference checks
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure for 12 hours minimum daily
Please note that OFA3's may be assigned other duties throughout their shift, including but not limited to assisting with prepping, cooking, cleaning, and other supporting responsibilities as needed.

Fort Ware is home to the Kwadacha Nation (KN) and is located approximately 570 km north of Prince George in British Columbia. The village lies at the confluence of the Fox, Kwadacha, and Finlay rivers in the Rocky Mountain Trench and has a population of approximately 270. Fort Ware is accessed by plane from Prince George or by logging road. It takes approximately 8-10 hours to drive from Fort Ware to Prince George depending upon weather and road conditions.
Alongside the resource management projects run by Kwadacha Natural Resources Limited Partnership, Kwadacha also operates an Outfitting company that provides ecotourism, hunting and fishing services in Kwadacha country.
Kwadacha operates the Kwadacha Natural Resources Limited Partnership to ensure the proper stewardship and care of all natural resources above and below ground while maintaining the environment and sustaining economic growth within the Kwadacha traditional territory.
