About the role
Job Summary
We are a small rural family restaurant located in Havelock (The Ridge Restaurant), we are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be able to multi task, follow direction, trainable, maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals.
- Make sure food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed.
- Food preparation such as peeling, dicing, slicing, portioning food.
- Work with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and the food is cooked correctly and food presentation is adequate.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is not required. Training will be provided.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting.
We are open Monday to Sunday from 8am to 7pm. Our shifts are 7am-2pm, 12 noon-7pm or 2pm-7pm. Pay rate is $17.50 per hour.
We are looking to hire one full time cook with 30-35 hours per week or two part time cooks with 2-3 shifts a week.
