Who you are
- You have 8+ years of product design experience, including 3+ years leading design teams at growth-stage tech companies, specializing in consumer apps
- You have a proven track record of setting a clear design vision and building scalable systems that elevate both the product and the team. Experience in fintech or other regulated industries is a strong asset
- You have exceptional UX and UI design craft, and a deep understanding and confidence of how research and data guides thoughtful design decisions
- You’re an excellent communicator who’s passionate about emerging technologies, especially the evolving role of AI in product design
- You’re a collaborative leader who leads with empathy, builds strong teams, and knows how to influence and cross-functional stakeholders across the business
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Director of Product Design to join our team remotely from anywhere in Canada.
- Reporting to Head of Product, you’ll lead a team of talented product designers and play a key role in bringing bold, user-centric ideas to life - shaping the visual and experiential future of KOHO's digital banking platform
- You'll be defining and championing the design vision for KOHO's digital banking experience, establishing design principles that elevate our brand and reflect our user needs
- You'll be leading the end-to-end design strategy for KOHO’s product ecosystem while managing, mentoring, and growing a team of 4 high-performing product designers
- You'll be scaling user research practices that ground our design decisions, partnering with our Creative Director, Engineering leadership, and Product teams to deliver cohesive experiences
- You'll be driving team effectiveness and productivity by improving design workflows and tools, while demonstrating the flexibility to roll up sleeves and contribute to design work when critical, high-impact projects call for your expertise
