Compliance & Quality Supervisor – First Mile Operations Site Based
Location: River Road
Full time (Mon-Fri, 40h per week, regular business hours)
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Compliance & Quality Supervisor to oversee and support our team of company drivers and owner operators performing drayage operations. This role is responsible for ensuring safe and compliant driver performance, supporting the optimization of the dispatch operations, and maintaining high service levels to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driver Compliance Management:
- Supervise and support drivers in all aspects of compliance.
- Monitor driver performance and conduct coaching, training, and corrective action as needed.
- Conduct daily check-ins and post-trip reviews to ensure operational and safety standards.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Monitor GPS and ELD systems to ensure route efficiency and compliance.
- Maintain and audit driver qualification files (abstracts, licenses, TDG certification, etc.)
- Perform routine HOS log audits and follow up on violations
- Collect onboarding documentation and administer driver orientations
- File and respond to trip inspections and roadside violations
- Ensure documentation readiness for audits or inspections
- Communicate company safety policies
- Interface with regulatory agencies, including the British Columbia Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement (CVSE), to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This includes consistent monitoring of the National Safety Code (NSC) and ensuring the CVSE-required safety plan is in place and amended as needed.
- Coordinate with safety and maintenance departments for vehicle servicing and incident investigations.
- Track and schedule CVIP inspections and preventative maintenance
- Coordinate defect repairs for out-of-service equipment
- Managing recall notices and ensuring resolution documentation is retained
- Log service records and ensure they meet NSC file retention requirements
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze reports on compliance and safety KPIs and develop strategies for improvement.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, incident records, and performance documentation.
- Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding compliance.
- Communicate any exceptions or compliance failures promptly and effectively.
