The Opportunity:

Our client is looking to add a Controller to their team in Windsor, Ontario. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will manage accounting operations, financial reporting, budgets, and support strategic decisions and ensuring regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Leading and supervising the Accounting Team and Corporate Office personnel.
  • Overseeing internal controls, safeguarding assets, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across departments.
  • Managing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivables, billing, payroll, fixed assets, and cost accounting.
  • Developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures (e.g., purchasing, payables, billing, collections, payroll).
  • Preparing and distributing timely weekly reports and monthly financial statements.
  • Supporting and managing budgeting and forecasting processes, including sales forecasts and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Building and maintaining KPI reports for operational and site performance.
  • Conducting financial analysis to evaluate projects, capital expenditures, and product costing.
  • Reconciling intercompany transactions and addressing financial inquiries or variances through data analysis.
  • Ensuring compliance with government reporting requirements, audits, and tax filings.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, insurance providers, and collection agencies.
  • Reporting financial insights and updates to the CFO and Senior Management.
  • Promoting company services and supporting Sales Teams as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field.
  • CPA designation would be preferred.
  • 5 + years of experience in a senior financial management position.
  • High standards of integrity and discretion, with a strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
  • Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented and analytical, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger processes and monthly/year-end close procedures.
