About the role
We’re Banditos, your new favorite Mexi-Can lager. Born from a 4AM idea and brewed with rogue spirit, we’re not just making beer we’re building a movement. We challenge the status quo, defy convention, and live for what’s great in life. Our team is a mix of brewers, creatives, strategists, and service pros, all united by one mission: to shake up the beer world with golden smooth liquid and a legendary brand story.
We’re looking for an Accounting Manager who’s as bold with numbers as we are with hops. You’ll be the financial backbone of our fast-growing operation, keeping us compliant, efficient, and ready to scale. You’ll lead with precision, but you’ll also bring the kind of entrepreneurial fire that thrives in a start-up that’s rewriting the rules.
Your Day To Day
- Lead the accounting operations through month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements and timely data collection from department managers and fellow banditos.
- Manage accounts receivable/payable, restaurant invoicing, and LCBO system interactions.
- Prepare and submit all required beer and liquor tax filings and payments.
- Produce regular financial deliverables, including weekly sales reports, inventory analyses, month-end commentary, product profitability reviews, and updates on outstanding receivables.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling; maintain and optimize finance systems (QuickBooks, Ekos, etc.) by partnering with external vendors to automate workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with the brewmaster on inventory control and production planning, monitoring beer production and stock levels to anticipate needs based on sales and consumption trends.
- Review current financial processes, recommend improvements, and lead the implementation of policies and system changes to ensure compliance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with audit preparation and maintain robust internal controls; ensure all finance activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify operational gaps, anticipate future needs (e.g., production scheduling), and proactively communicate recommendations to leadership.
- Embrace a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture: demonstrate flexibility, initiative, assertiveness in feedback, and ownership of evolving responsibilities.
- Research and recommend potential external employee benefit partners
- Perform other related duties as required
What You Bring
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years in a finance or accounting role within manufacturing, brewery, or CPG environments
- Familiarity with beer industry practices, LCBO systems, and beer tax regulations is preferred
- Expert knowledge of financial procedures, accounting regulations (GAAP), financial modeling, and project management
- Master our financial systems, especially EKOS and QuickBooks, which are the backbone of our operations by partnering with external vendors to automate workflows, reduce manual effort, and drive efficiency.
- Strong quantitative and analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality
- Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines and delivering accurate, timely financial information
- Ability to independently lead and evolve finance operations, setting the pace, direction, and standards for performance.
- Comfortable working independently and cross-functionally with minimal supervision
- Self-starter who anticipates needs, brings forward solutions, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture
- Detail-obsessed, deadline-driven, and cool under pressure.
- A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and moves fast with confidence.
- Resilient, adaptable, and ready to grow with a brand that’s going places.
- Resilient under direct or aggressive feedback, open to evolving responsibilities as the company grows
- Trusted by leadership for day-to-day financial operations
What’s In It For You
- Competitive salary
- Paid time off
- Flexible for remote work and transitioning on-site as facilities evolve
- Career growth in a company that’s scaling fast
- A team that values creativity, hustle, and good times
- A chance to be part of something legendary
We believe every employee should have the opportunity to participate and succeed. We are committed to a workplace culture of respect, inclusion, and diversity. We recognize and celebrate the valuable differences among each of us, including race, religious beliefs, physical or mental disabilities, age, place of origin, marital status, family status, gender or gender identity and sexual orientation.
