About the role

ALBA’S WINES is sales agency headquartered in Nîmes, France. We manage the export distribution of wines from Languedoc Roussillon winemakers (see our website). Our team selects, advises, and supports French winemakers in their export efforts : export administrative procedures, sales administration, commercial promotion, and marketing.

With a portfolio in perpetual growth wine brands, we are consolidating the commercial activity of winegrowers in this area.

We are looking for Sales Representatives (Sole proprietorship or company) for Canada.

This position requires regular travel within your assigned territory and neighboring states.

ALBA'S WINES does not own a vineyard, does not own any industrial facilities, and does not hold any inventory. Physical (wine transport) and financial (invoicing and payment) transactions are handled directly between foreign customers and French winemakers.

Are you a dynamic, motivated individual with a passion for sales and building meaningful relationships ? ALBA’S WINES is looking for a Field Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing sales programs designed to maximize the sale and distribution of ALBA’S WINES brands with existing and prospective accounts in your assigned area : direct import.

As a Field Sales Representative, you will develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and prospective customers, ensuring future sales and repeat business. Your excellent communication skills will be essential as you field questions, resolve complaints, and submit orders while completing all required documentation.

You will play a vital role in promoting and raising awareness of our products, presenting ALBA’S WINES programs to distributor sales organizations, and providing service and merchandising support to accounts as needed.

Your responsibilities will include driving volume, revenue visibility, and achieving availability goals across the ALBA’S WINES portfolio. You will showcase your strong personal selling, time management, and public speaking skills while lifting cases of wine and demonstrating effective merchandising techniques. Maintaining satisfactory attendance, including timeliness, are crucial aspects of this role. Additionally, you will be responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations.

Your role will involve a strategic focus on high-opportunity areas, adapting to market dynamics, and reallocating resources to prioritize premium brands and key accounts.

You will also engage in consumer-facing events, leverage digital marketing assets, and utilize technology to monitor performance and identify growth opportunities. As a ALBA’S WINES Ambassador, you will advocate for our brands, host events, and utilize social media to promote ALBA’S WINES sales within your community.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of wine or spirits sales with wholesalers or retailers with an import license, directly through a clearing company or importers.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Both On-Premise & Retail Experience.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to lift and move product weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to employ an alternative work schedule to include weekends and evenings.
  • Required to obtain a liquor license as required by state/ locally.

What You Will Set You Apart

  • Direct managerial/supervisory experience with sales, retail, or on-premise employees (e.g. District Manager,
  • Area Manager, State Manager, Field Marketing manager, etc.)
  • Experience selling or marketing ALBA’S WINES brands.
  • Experience selling Spirits and wines
  • CSS, CSE, CEFS, CSSC or equivalent certification or in process within 6 months.
  • Prefer to be bilingual in English and French.

Compensation : 5% commission on all sales
