As an Operator-Records Systems within our Occurrence Processing Unit, you will be the responsible for performing direct data entry and general Record Services duties.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Enters occurrence reports into Niche system, received via the digital dictation system, live calls and hardcopy reports.
  • Completes records checks for CPIC requests; answers telephone inquiries and performs general reception duties in Records Services
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

You are someone with:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional office administration course(s) and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of one year related experience required
  • MS Word-Basic
  • MS Outlook
  • Well-developed keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Working knowledge of UCR/Niche preferred
  • Working knowledge of CPIC/PQT preferred
  • Working knowledge of occurrence processing system preferred
  • Effective oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated written communication skills

Successful candidates must be available to work all shifts (days (9hrs), afternoons (9hrs) and midnights (7hrs). The hiring process is competitive and extensive and requires applicants to participate in each stage of the recruitment process.

Anticipated recruitment timeframe for shortlisted applicants is as follows:

  • Speed & Accuracy testing (typing, 40wpm @ 96% accuracy rate) – last week of July and early August
  • General English testing (Spelling, Vocabulary, Grammar, Filing); MS Word & Outlook – throughout August
  • Panel Interviews during business hours – August 11-September 5
  • Background checks – throughout August and September
  • Anticipated start dates: September 2; early October and early November

Our Occurrence Processing Unit operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Training will consist of 5 weeks in class instruction following a Monday to Friday 7:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. schedule. After which you will be assigned a platoon that follows a five (5) week rotation of Days, Afternoons and Midnights.

This position DOES NOT allow for remote working arrangements.
