About the role

JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is looking for a Registered Nurse to join one of our healthcare partners. The Specialty Pharma Nurse - Registered Nurse will deliver and monitor specialized infusion, injectable, or oral pharmacological treatments in home and clinic settings. Responsibilities include monitoring patients for infusion-related reactions, documenting procedures, and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction. Specialized pharmacological training will be provided. Responsibilities • Develop and review individualized nursing care plans. • Conduct patient health assessments and medication administration teaching. • Obtain IV access through peripheral IV initiation or central line access (PICC, IVAD, etc.). • Prepare and administer specialized intravenous or injectable pharmacological treatments. • Provide patient care through observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, health teaching, and reporting adverse events. • Perform routine nursing duties in accordance with company policies and provincial standards. • Provide patient-centered care according to established care plans or medical directives. • Perform specialized nursing procedures with demonstrated competencies. • Maintain role-related, medication, and pharmacovigilance training. • Observe and document patient conditions. Report and document adverse events as per pharmacovigilance requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an accredited program. • Current registration and in good standing with the provincial nursing regulatory body. • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification. • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for clinic roles. • Experience in acute care and/or administering specialty pharmaceuticals. • Preferred experience in critical care (e.g., ER or ICU), infusion clinics, or oncology. • Exceptional peripheral IV initiation skills. • Strong patient assessment and communication skills. • Ability to manage relationships with exceptional customer service. • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks. • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions related to patient care. • Ability to transcribe physician’s orders. • Valid driver’s license.
