About the role

Business Development – LPG & Transportation

Maxfield is a progressive, experienced and leading manufacturer, well known for its high-quality products. This includes designing, engineering, fabrication, and servicing of a wide range of pressure vessels, pipe spooling, structural skids and dangerous goods transport truck and trailers across Canada. Maxfield strives to be an industry leader in transport, storage, and service in the compressed gas industry. 

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, working closely with Estimating, Engineering, Operations and Production Managers, Service Shop Branch Managers, and our Marketing Coordinator.

As Business Development for LPG & Transportation, you will represent Terravest’s LPG products and companies within Western Canada and NW USA (this territory shall be defined as (WA, OR, ID and MT)).

You will be responsible for expanding Maxfield’s profitable market share within the Western Canadian LPG market (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba). To achieve this, you will be successful in growing Maxfield’s leasing and rental business within Canada, increasing domestic tank and part sales within Western Canada, and growing LPG service work for our Crossfield, Leduc, Saskatoon and Brandon locations.

Responsibilities:

Sales:

  • Build personal relationships with decision makers at all Western Canadian LPG retailers
  • Cold call prospective customers
  • Perform in person sales visits as required
  • Maintain and utilize CRM program for call and quote tracking as well as contact management
  • Provide inventory stocking plans for manufactured equipment
  • Keep inventory current on marketing platforms (website, etc.)

Marketing:

  • Keep inventory current on marketing platforms (website, etc.)
  • Organize and attend required LPG tradeshows
  • Organize and direct advertising in trade magazines
  • Perform mass email campaigns with inventory and technical updates
  • Participate in industry associations

Design:

  • Provide necessary details to estimating so proper estimates can be generated
  • Review equipment drawings prior to sending to the customer/issuing for fabrication
  • Provide technical expertise to engineering & estimating as required

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience preferred in sales related position
  • 10+ years’ experience preferred in LPG industry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Excellent ability to gather and understand clients needs, submit detailed business information for appropriate pricing and presentation of solutions to identified client’s business needs and requirements.
  • Commitment to fulfilling the agreed daily/weekly/monthly revenue targets
  • Self Motivated, results oriented with a strong desire to succeed
