About the role
Some of what you will do:
Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for supporting and executing online merchandising and promotional initiatives, coordinating and executing print content for Staplesprint.ca flyers and catalogues and improving the online customer experience. In addition, this position supports website enhancements and online merchandising system issues – troubleshooting issues that arise, identifying improvement opportunities and testing enhancements as they are introduced.
Specifically, You Will:
Merchandising Operations and Promotions
- Support merchandising and marketing online and mobile promotional activity by setting up and maintaining Promotional Bundles / Pages – working with affected parties to provide direction and determine the best approach based on defined business objectives
- Partner with Merchandising & Marketing teams to collect and execute promotions for all online product offers including but not exclusive to SKU level messaging, mail-in rebate, coupon setup and SKU flag maintenance
- Continually improve online promotional experience and execution by utilizing website enhancements, customer feedback/reviews, sales data, site metrics and other sources.
- Develop strong understanding of internal merchandising and web systems to troubleshoot merchandising system/process issues
- Timely execution of website banners for impacted pages - product category pages, homepage, and promotional pages.
- Maintain website product taxonomy – working with SEO, search, analytics, content and merchandising to ensure consistent execution and optimal customer experience
- Maintain homepage navigation links for Staplesprint.ca updating as needed to support changing business needs or strategies
- Create and maintain online Brand shops as required
- Support / represent Site Merchandising team for website and mobile enhancement projects – helping define requirements, test functionality and train team members on system changes
- Support merchandising strategy and maximize sales potential by utilizing website merchandising tools to drive attach – including but not exclusive to; Cross Sells, Upsells, Substitutes, Extended Warranties
- Lead or participate in special projects as required.
Print Content Support / Execution:
- Effectively manage the flow of information between print publishing team and merchants to ensure accuracy and consistency of information in print/online projects
- Work closely with Bilingual Content Specialists to ensure accuracy, consistency and timely execution of promotions on French website, catalogues and flyers.
Communication:
- Effectively maintain strong cross-functional relationships with merchandising, content, marketing, SEO, Search/Analytics, site operations, IT support, creative and publishing teams to ensure smooth implementation and maintenance of merchandising initiatives Collaborate with key vendor partners to develop and execute print and online promotions to enhance online customer research and presentation
Some of what you need:
- Completion of post-secondary education with focus on ecommerce or related experience.
- Working knowledge of web site structure and functionality.
- Experience with content management systems such as Contentful and LiveSite.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce software and platforms.
- Strong analytic skills using Omniture and Google analytics.
- Strong computer skills and an ability to learn new software is critical.
- 1-3 years of website operations management. Communications/Business Marketing management degree preferred.
