About the Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, as a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing detailed assembly of light to medium duty Automated Testing Cells/Machines and robotic type automated equipment using standard shop procedures and tools. Additionally, you will travel to customers’ facilities to install or service 416 Automation products. Day-to-day activities involve working with a team of 5-7 technicians in a fast-paced environment, where attention to detail and precision is critical.
What a typical day looks like ● Proficiently build and assemble electrical panels and junction boxes to ensure efficient operation. ● Solder and assemble test cables to meet precise specifications and standards. ● Successfully assemble mechanical equipment with precision and attention to detail. ● Execute installations globally across Canada, USA, Mexico, and Europe. ● Integrate electrical, mechanical, and software components seamlessly for optimal system functionality. ● Troubleshooting in a Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing environment to swiftly resolve issues and minimize downtime.
● Actively contribute to the research and development of innovative testing solutions. ● Maintain strong customer relationships through on-site support visits, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly.
Required Qualifications - What you bring to the table- What you need to succeed
● 5+ years of experience assembling automated equipment, and/or a post-secondary diploma in mechanical, industrial automation, or electro-mechanical ● Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings ● Familiarity with industry standard electrical/mechanical/electronic assembly practices ● Familiar with Solid Works/AutoCAD (preferred) ● Experience using hand and power tools ● Must be able to handle physical requirements of the job (continuous standing, occasional lifting of 10-50 pounds) ● Exceptional communication (written & verbal in the English language) and interpersonal skills. You must be flexible with working overtime, and able to travel globally.
Preferred Qualifications ● Post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical, industrial automation, or electro-mechanical technology.

Our electronics department specialize in PCB design and Micro Computer Based Automation. We manufacture portable testing stations for electronic products meeting all of our customers test requirements. 416 Automation also provides round the clock support and service for all our products and systems in the advanced manufacturing industry.
