Your Opportunity!

We’re looking for a Resident Assistant. This role plays a critical role in delivering high-quality care and support to residents, ensuring that their daily living needs are met with kindness, professionalism, and respect. This position helps create a comfortable, safe, and fulfilling environment for residents, in alignment with the community's mission.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, including grooming, dressing, bathing, and mobility, as required and directed by the community nurse or department manager.
  • Follow care plans and provide support for residents’ specific health needs, ensuring that assistance is delivered in accordance with individual care requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided, including daily logs and resident observations, in compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Help residents with daily living activities, such as meal assistance, laundry, and housekeeping, to support their comfort and well-being.
  • Ensure that residents’ laundry is collected, cleaned, and returned in a timely manner, ensuring all items are properly handled and maintained.
  • Support meal service by assisting with meal delivery, ensuring that residents receive the correct meals, and providing help with feeding as needed.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of resident activities and recreation programs, encouraging participation and ensuring that programs are engaging and suitable for residents’ needs.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident rooms, common areas, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Deliver compassionate, respectful, and person-centered care to residents, ensuring that their individual needs and preferences are met to enhance their quality of life.
  • Provide assistance to the residents at all hours of the day and night, ensuring continuity of care and support across shifts.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

  • Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory
  • Successful completion of a recognized health assistant program, including a medication management certificate
  • Experience working with seniors in a high-quality, service-oriented community/organization (Preferred)
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of Products (Preferred)
  • Current registration with the appropriate provincial Registry (Required)
  • CPR and First Aid designation (Required)

Line # 7: Week 1 - Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 8am to 12pm
Week 2 - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday - 8am to 12pm

Line # 8: Week 1 - Monday, Friday and Saturday - 8am to 12pm
Week 2 - Sunday, Monday and Friday - 8am to 12pm
Line # 7: 32 hours biweekly (16h per week)
Line # 8: 24 hours biweekly (12h per week)
