JOB PURPOSE:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in collaboration with the inter-professional team will provide care and treatment to patients undergoing rehabilitation to achieve restoration of their abilities. This is accomplished through delivery of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, education, preventative measures, and maintenance of health and functional abilities to diverse patient population.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree in nursing preferred
- Current Certificate of Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required
- Completion of the Canadian Nurses Association Rehabilitation Nursing Certification – CRN © credential preferred.
- Good understanding of the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice
- Active involvement in own/our continuing education
- 2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience in a Rehabilitation/Complex Continuing Care Hospital or Acute Care Hospital preferred
- Excellent Organizational skills and ability to manage workload
- Experience with Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication and team building skills
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with the inter-professional team, patients and their families
- Demonstrated ability to provide culturally sensitive and senior friendly patient care
- The ability to work independently and in a team environment
- An Excellent Attendance Recordis a prerequisite
Please be advised that in order to be eligible for employment at Runnymede Healthcare Centre, all new hires must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of COVID-19 vaccines approved by Health Canada (e.g., two doses of a two-dose vaccine series, or one dose of a single-dose vaccine series); AND have received the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the hired employee’s first date of employment. About Runnymede Healthcare Centre
Runnymede Healthcare Centre is a 206-bed rehabilitation and complex continuing care hospital, dedicated to restoring patients' independence. The construction of Runnymede Long-Term Care, a separate facility adjacent to the hospital, is nearing completion. We’re also launching Canada’s first PTSI Centre of Excellence, which will provide specialized care for First Responders and frontline healthcare workers experiencing post-traumatic stress injuries.
