We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Operational Excellence Advisor. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will require candidates to work a Monday-Friday schedule.
Purpose of the Role:
The Operational Excellence Advisor is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization by identifying inefficiencies, implementing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and fostering a culture of performance excellence. This role supports teams in achieving business objectives through process optimization, performance monitoring, and strategic problem-solving.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects following Tacora’s CI Framework
- Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA), kaizen events, and value stream mapping workshops
- Analyze current work practices to identify and eliminate waste (MUDA)
- Identify, facilitate, and drive business improvement initiatives on time, on budget, and to the expected level of quality
- Provides technical support and direction to project stakeholders, building on and sharing lessons learned
- Support the development and standardization of operating procedures and best practices
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to employees on operational excellence principles and tools
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational discipline.
- Support the business in establishing “best practice”
- Demonstrate performance excellence behaviours within the business and champion performance excellence
- Train and coach employees on lean tools and methods
- Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained
- Other duties as required
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Having statistical skills is an asset
- Strong orientation toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement
- Strong safety culture
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to establish strong working relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to train and coach people
- Excellent computing skills (MS Office)
- Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
License:
- Driver's License (Required)
