Procyon Wildlife is a registered charitable organization dedicated to helping wildlife and staffed almost entirely by volunteers.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handy Man to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse set of skills to handle various maintenance and repair tasks efficiently. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently and is committed to delivering high-quality workmanship. The Handy Man will be responsible for ensuring that all repairs and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner, contributing to the overall functionality and aesthetics of the property.
The right candidate will have a good respect for all of our wildlife species and understand that there will be some challenges related to working in proximity with our wild patients as well as great benefits.
Scheduling will be open and is very flexible for you to set your days & times as you need to.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting.
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment to identify issues or necessary repairs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants or management.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete larger projects as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations while performing all tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Handy Man or similar role with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment related to maintenance tasks.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, and carpentry techniques is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- A valid driver’s license may be required depending on job location and responsibilities.
