Job Duties

Work with Perioperative Nursing and Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) program faculty to:

  1. Facilitate program delivery by tutoring and supporting students in the theory component; facilitating Workplace Integrated Learning Experiences; facilitating psychomotor skills labs and clinical experience as required.
  2. Assist with coordination of clinical experiences and Workplace Integrated Learning Experiences.
  3. Provide student support and counselling to facilitate student success.
  4. Evaluate and monitor student progress and program effectiveness.
  5. Facilitate effective and efficient program administration.
  6. Assist with revision of curriculum as needed.
  7. Develop and maintain agency/community relations.
  8. Participate in providing Quality Assurance for brokered deliveries.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

  1. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or in a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  2. Two years recent and relevant clinical practice in operating room nursing.

  3. Active registration in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).

  4. Ability to support students in online development and delivery (i.e. Desire2Learn/Brightspace or other online education platforms).

  5. Effective communication (oral and written) skills.

  6. Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  7. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment

  8. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.

  9. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
