About the role

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems manager to assist in the implementation and ongoing management of integrated technology solutions across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing systems, ERP platforms, and a solid understanding of accounting principles to ensure alignment between operational processes and financial reporting. Knowledge of steel manufacturing processes is considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Integration & Implementation
  • Consolidate the integration of ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and financial modules.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across operational and accounting systems.
  • Ensure alignment of IT solutions with business goals, particularly in manufacturing efficiency and financial accuracy.
  • Operational Management
  • Oversee the ongoing operational performance, maintenance, and support of manufacturing and financial systems.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with support teams to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Implement and supervise change control processes, system upgrades, and patch management.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with manufacturing, finance, and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure clear communication and successful project delivery
  • Establish and maintain documentation for operational procedures and system configurations.
  • Coordinate and develop business analytics, tools and reports.
  • Vendor & Consultant Coordination
  • Coordinate with IT team to collaborate with external IT consultants, software vendors, and third-party developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure external resources align with internal standards, timelines, and business objectives.
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure solutions comply with internal controls, financial regulations, and industry standards.
  • Support audits and ensure traceability of financial transactions within manufacturing systems.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization within manufacturing and accounting workflows.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
  • Test existing and new systems, software, control processes and technologies prior to implementation
  • Test all bug fixes and system enhancements prior to implementation into live environment
  • Training and support of internal users

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years in a Systems management role.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing environments and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost accounting.
  • Experience in the steel manufacturing industry is a strong asset.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with ERP systems, especially Sage 300 or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as MES, SCADA, and shop floor automation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Understanding of database technologies (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and data warehousing.
  • Competency in API design, RESTful services, and microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Respecting due dates for project and assignments
  • Experience in launching new ERP software
  • Experience in training both “lay-person” and technically proficient team users

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
