About the role

Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Respiratory Therapist I will provide support to the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Site. Areas of coverage include inpatient and outpatient departments for adults, older adults and pediatrics.

Description:

As a Respiratory Therapist I, you will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Previous experience within acute care required. Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS required. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to transport large oxygen reservoirs with occasional heavy lifting. Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience within a tertiary rehabilitation hospital preferred. Heart and Stroke Foundation ACLS preferred.
