About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor, Facility Support Services, the Utility Worker performs general repetitive tasks in maintaining an assigned area, with due consideration for patients, visitors and staff. This position maintains clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas as directed, according to established standards, observing proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques. The incumbent also participates in On-the-Job Training programs; seeks clarification of duties when indicated; offers assistance and/or instruction to co-workers; extends courtesy and consideration to others in interpersonal relationships; and demonstrates a professional manner in work settings.
The Utility Worker channels suggestions, concerns, and queries to appropriate authority; performs duties in a timely and effective manner; practices responsible cost effectiveness in the use of time, materials and equipment. This position observes all hospital and departmental personnel policies with particular reference to patient confidentiality; practices and promotes safety awareness; observes fire regulations and reports any suspected safety hazards; participates in and contributes to the departmental quality management program; and supports and participates in departmental continuing education programs. The incumbent is also responsible for performing other related duties as required.
About You

- Grade 12/GED required or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and methods that apply to a health care setting is an asset
- Good communication skills are essential
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent, Part-Time / 40% / 30 hours bi weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$19.26 - $20.02 Hourly
