This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is intended to fill a current position within our organization. We are currently looking for a Facility Services Worker to join our team of committed professionals. This Part-time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Chippewa location in North Bay. Under the leadership of the Manager of Facility Services, the Facility Services Worker maintains a safe, functional, clean, and comfortable environment which is suitable for the delivery of YMCA and partner (if applicable) programming.
START DATE: As soon as possible
LOCATION: North Bay, ON
RATE OF PAY: $17.20 - $18.50 per hour
HOURS: Variable
Major Responsibilities
- Perform the prescribed cleaning tasks throughout the facility
- Monitor the levels of supplies and restock them when required in the restrooms, showers, locker rooms, fitness areas, and day care rooms
- Assess the cleaning supplies required to complete the assigned task list and restock the cart with supplies from the cleaning supplies stockroom
- Conduct and record the whirlpool test on an hourly basis
- Report low levels of supplies in the stockroom to the Supervisor of Facility Services
- Practice safe work habits. Wear personal protective equipment and clothing as required
- Ensure that protective devices are present and working on all tools and equipment. Keep work areas free of hazards
- Comply with the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) program. Have a full understanding of the three inter-related components of the WHMIS program – training, labeling, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Maintain current WHMIS certification
- Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization
- Other duties as assigned by the Association
Qualifications
- Good interpersonal skills
- Basic literacy and math skills
- Ability to operate floor polishers, scrubbers, and burnishers considered an asset
- WHMIS Certification
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
- Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
