About the role
Position Description:
As a Marketing & Partnerships Assistant intern, you will play a key role in expanding the visibility and adoption of our AI-powered photo-sharing platform for sporting events. Your primary mission will be to identify, contact, and secure partnerships with marathon organizers, running events, sponsors and fitness-focused communities.
As our intern, you will support new business development by initiating outreach campaigns, coordinating event participation logistics, and contributing to innovative photo-sharing strategies that showcase our cutting-edge facial recognition technology.
This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work at the intersection of event marketing, technology, and customer engagement, and will provide valuable experience in partnership development, external/outreach communications, and brand growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Outreach: Identify and prioritize high-potential running/sports events across North America, developing tailored partnership pitches that highlight our AI platform’s competitive edge.
- Innovative Campaigns: Collaborate with the team to design and test creative outreach strategies (e.g., leveraging social media, event sponsors, or athlete influencers).
- Tech-Driven Solutions: Contribute ideas to improve our platform’s value proposition for partners, based on market research and event organizer feedback.
- Data-Informed Growth: Analyze partnership outcomes and user engagement metrics to recommend optimizations for future campaigns.
- Event Activation Support: Assist in planning Xlens’ presence at select events, focusing on innovative ways to showcase our technology (e.g., live photo demos, participant engagement tactics, promotional material).
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Business, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with the Vancouver and Canadian running/sports scene.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize high-potential event partnerships.
- Prior experience in partnership development, event coordination, or sales/marketing outreach is an asset.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and social media platforms.
- Availability to attend local events or meetings as needed.
Position Details:
- Part-time commitment: ~25 hours/month (flexible scheduling).
- Location: Vancouver, BC.
- Hybrid work: Primarily remote, with 1-2 in-person meetings weekly in our Downtown Vancouver office.
- Duration: 3-month internship with potential for extended opportunities
