Project Opportunity FCC Canada is currently seeking a highly skilled Tunnel Design Manager to join one of its major infrastructure projects in Toronto. This role will be responsible for overseeing the design and coordination of tunnel engineering activities, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in tunnel design within complex urban environments, strong collaboration skills, and a commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a landmark transportation project shaping the future of Toronto’s transit network.

Reports to: Design Team Lead The Tunnel Design Manager Is Responsible For The Following

• Design and coordination of all aspects of the tunnels, including:
• Managing the design, coordination, and preparation of Works Submittals as it relates to tunnels (bored tunnels, SEM structures and underpinning station);
• Coordinating the interface with Contracting Authority, Governmental Authorities and key stakeholders, including the City of Toronto and TTC;
• Ensuring compliance with the technical and quality requirements set out in the Output Specifications; and
• Coordinating the resolution of design interfaces.
• Perform additional assignments per the directives.

Education And Qualifications

• 15 years’ experience with at least 10 years’ experience in managing multidisciplinary design for significant subway tunnels of similar types and financial magnitude.
• Professional Engineer or equivalent.

Job Requirements

• Experience with tunnel segmental lining design.
• Experience with SEM design.
• Experience with the design of underpinning, pipe canopies, micro-tunnelling or other works related to the underpinning of the station.
