You independently operate and maintain at least one process, equipment or systems following autonomous maintenance (AM) standards and use your technical skills to improve line and/or system performance to meet business needs.

How you will contribute

You are a key ingredient in changing how the world snacks. With coaching, you will operate and maintain equipment to deliver on our safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets. You will use execute all standard work processes on your equipment using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards and ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed. You will understand the losses in their area and equipment and report them.

More about this role

What you need to know about this position:

  • Execute HACCP, Regulatory and Pre-Requisite Programs by conducting CCP metal checks, allergen inspections, flour/sugar tailing checks and reviewing previous shift verification
  • Lead shift Product Quality Review meeting with Line Leads reviewing product for defects and iQS data for trends
  • Manage quality incidents on their shift by placing necessary product on hold, conducting the root cause analysis, writing the incident report and following up to ensure actions are completed
  • Train operators on metal detector verification, net content verification, allergen controls and good manufacturing practices
  • Trouble shoot day to day Quality related incidents, equipment and systems
  • Communicate to the line team's top consumer complaint drivers and lead actions to reduce
  • Investigate out of spec Critical to Quality parameters and monitor CPM weekly
  • Raw Material management through, receiving, CoA verification, spec exceptions, Quality Notifications, Kosher and HACCP Finished Good Testing

Education / Certifications:

  • Post-Secondary diploma in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance area is required, Engineering and Food Science is preferred.
  • Engineering courses are preferred.
  • 2 years minimum work experience in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance environment is preferred.

Job specific requirements:

  • Strong computer skills (Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams) including Windows software and plant informational systems (SAP, SharePoint).
  • Exposure to electronic systems to monitor quality parameters i.e Quality Suite
  • Strong understanding of plant Quality Programs, including HACCP, Metal Detection, Calibration, CoA’s, Specifications, documentation control
  • The successful candidate must be a responsible and reliable self-starter who is capable of working effectively with little supervision.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, working well with others.
  • Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to read and write English proficiently.
  • Demonstrated interest and concern for quality and keen observation skills and a keen desire to learn.
  • Must be a strong performer who demonstrates reliability, an excellent attendance record, excellent teamwork and strong self-directed, individual and group work ethic.

Work schedule:

  • Flexibility to work any shift as needed (including weekends).
  • Availability to start working immediately.
