Scope:

The Regional Director of Operations, reporting to the Vice President of Operations, leads and supports the Quebec region’s operations teams. As a key member of the national leadership team, the incumbent drives productivity, enhances service levels, and identifies growth opportunities. This role collaborates with internal departments, suppliers, agents, and customers to ensure operational excellence and alignment with ICS Courier’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies and provide support to ensure that operational and budgetary goals are achieved
  • Works with the regional teams to drive business results
  • Implement any changes, controls and/or procedures necessary to improve quality of standards and operational efficiency.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and submits business case recommendations to maximize current operations or plan for operational changes, including business synergies.
  • Identifies, manages, and communicates priorities to regional operational leaders daily to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Assess reports and results regarding company and departmental goals and objectives
  • Responsible for regional operational P&L
  • Provides direction, support and coaching to regional management personnel in the fulfillment of their responsibilities and the accomplishment of objectives.
  • Collects, reviews, and analyzes performance and productivity indicators in all areas daily, weekly and monthly. Responsible for reporting results during a national weekly review.
  • Devises action plans as appropriate to address any areas of sub-optimal performance. Works with management personnel to define, coordinate, and develop solutions for department or area specific requirements and solutions.
  • Provides ongoing support, coaching and development of operations team, including the establishment of annual performance objectives, conducting performance discussions, making compensation recommendations, and conducting succession planning and skill development discussions.
  • Travel to various locations across Quebec, including Quebec City and Ottawa, as required.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in the courier industry
  • Strong financial business acumen
  • Must be fully bilingual in French & English
  • Excellent interpersonal communication & probing skills, high aptitude for follow-up.
  • Advanced business acumen, (courier and/or supply chain management knowledge essential), analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is preferred
  • Able to handle multiple tasks with rapidly changing priorities, able to manage individual and team projects
  • Demonstrated drive, persistence & initiative.
  • Proven planning, organizational, time and management skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and own vehicle.
  • University degree preferred
