Witzel Dyce Engineering Inc. is a structural engineering firm located in Waterloo. Our projects range in size and we specialize in the design of buildings structures for industrial, commercial, institutional, residential, and agricultural applications. We also offer consulting services to architects, contractors, developers, and owners. It is our goal to provide clients with safe, cost effective and appropriate engineering solutions.

Witzel Dyce Engineering was established in 2013 and has grown steadily over the last ten years recently adding a civil department with our growth. Our team of 25+ engineers, project managers and project coordinators provide an excellent opportunity for career growth and advancement.

Who we are looking for:

Witzel Dyce Engineering Inc. is currently seeking a motivated individual with a strong interest in the construction industry to join our team as a Structural Engineer / Designer.

Responsibilities

  • Structural design calculations, analysis, modelling and detailing of building structures.
  • Design buildings constructed of steel, concrete, wood, cold-formed steel and masonry.
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with current codes and standards.
  • Site reviews to verify conformance with design specifications.
  • Site measurements, investigations and building assessments as required.
  • Developing and maintaining positive, sustainable client relationships.
  • Coordinating and working with project team members

Required Skills

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred, Bachelor’s accepted)
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) accepted
  • Strong understanding of structural systems and the related building and design codes.
  • Industry knowledge, including construction methods, is considered a requirement.
  • Proficiency in using computers to model structures is/will be a requirement.
  • FEA is considered an asset.
  • Ability and desire to learn quickly and be challenged.
  • Motivated individual who is willing to work in a fast-paced environment and is detail oriented.
  • Must demonstrate teamwork and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and structural engineering software applications. (RISA, MASS, SAFE, ETABS or similar).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
