Dr. Rachel Langevin is seeking a dedicated and organized research assistant to coordinate the activities of the Resilience, Adversity, and Childhood Trauma Research Lab (ReACT Lab). The ReACT Lab conducts research on child maltreatment, resilience, and the intergenerational transmission of trauma. Dr. Langevin leads multiple research projects and supervises several MA and PhD students in counselling psychology. She is also a leader in the Global Collaboration on Traumatic Stress and collaborates with research teams across Quebec and Canada.
The lab coordinator will support the day-to-day operations of the lab and help ensure timely progress across multiple research projects and partnerships. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting with grant, award, and ethics applications; tracking project timelines and budgets; coordinating research assistant hiring and expense reports.
- Supporting Dr. Langevin and project teams in preparing, reviewing, translating, and formatting research materials (e.g., surveys, consent forms, recruitment materials).
- Supporting the coordination of meetings, communications, and documentation related to research networks and collaborative projects (e.g., the Global Collaboration on Traumatic Stress).
- Monitoring the ReACT Lab email account and website content.
- Supporting knowledge mobilization efforts by assisting in the preparation of materials for diverse audiences (e.g., health professionals, researchers, the public).
- Performing general administrative duties to support the smooth functioning of the lab.
Qualifications Required (skills and abilities, education, language skills):
- Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in both English and French (written and spoken).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a research team.
Education/experience requirements
- Master’s degree completed in psychology, public health, social work, psychiatry, epidemiology, sexology, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in research coordination and/or project management.
- Solid understanding of research ethics requirements and procedures (e.g., REB submissions, renewals, consent processes).
