About the role
RAM is a project delivery firm specializing in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering and Advisory services across Canada. RAM is searching for a motivated and experienced individual in Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will be an individual that enjoys a challenging, professional, and dynamic workplace and contributing to the success of a hardworking team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and inspect the installation and replacement of residential and commercial gas meters performed by contractors, ensuring compliance with Client standards and applicable codes.
- Verify proper procedures are followed for lock-out/tag-out, pressure testing, leak detection, and meter calibration.
- Ensure all work meets BC Safety Authority (Technical Safety BC) regulations, CSA B149 code requirements, and Client specifications.
- Conduct field quality inspections and generate daily inspection reports, including documentation of deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Ensure contractors follow approved work procedures, safety protocols, and environmental protection measures.
- Support project schedules by coordinating inspections and ensuring timely resolution of quality and safety issues.
- Provide technical guidance to contractor personnel on gas fitting practices and quality standards as required.
- Review contractor Installation Records, Gas Fitter certifications, and Material Traceability for accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and site reviews as needed.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Valid Gas Fitter Class B Certificate of Qualification (issued in BC).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant field experience, including hands-on gas fitting and quality control.
- Strong knowledge of CSA B149 gas code and standards.
- Previous experience overseeing contractor work in a utility, gas distribution, or municipal infrastructure setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in field reporting using mobile or tablet-based inspection tools.
- Valid BC driver’s license and willingness to travel daily throughout the Lower Mainland.
