About the role
Job Description ILS Engineer II is responsible for providing the ILS Project Manager with the products related to the development of Logistic Support Analysis. The ILS Engineer II performs the functions by partaking and guiding the design process of the products relevant to maintainability, reliability, testability and optimizing life cycle costs through the definition of required resources to support the product during in-service operation.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employees will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement. What You'll Do
- Perform Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) analyses, including but not limited to reliability analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Reliability-Centered Maintenance Analysis, Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), sparing analysis, life cycle cost analysis, etc.
- Collaborate with and support design engineering with the results of the RAM analysis.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to make sure suppliers meet the required ILS requirements.
- Validate supplier’s data for adequacy and accuracy.
- Build and maintain LSA databases, such as LSAR or equivalent.
- Use engineering judgement to draw conclusions and make decisions.
- Apply relevant regulations, industry and discipline standards.
- Write technical reports.
- Support development of maintenance manuals, spare parts lists, and provisioning data.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Any other duties as required by the LSA Supervisor.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering.
- Experience in shipbuilding, defense, aviation, rail or automotive industry is desirable.
- Prior experience in ILS, RAMS or other Systems Engineering areas.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Engineer in Training (EIT) designation with a recognized, accredited institution.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering.
- Experience in shipbuilding, defense, aviation, rail or automotive industry is desirable.
- Prior experience in ILS, RAMS or other Systems Engineering areas.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Engineer In Training (EIT) designation with a recognized, accredited institution.

The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
