Position Title: BOOKKEEPER
Job Type: PART TIME | MONDAY TO FRIDAY | 20 – 25 HOURS A WEEK
Location: PORT MCNEILL
Compensation: $21.00-$24.00 per hour (based on experience)

SUMMARY OF POSITION
This position is critical to the successful operation of our store. The primary focus is supporting the administrative transactional activities in our office on site. The preferred candidate will bring prior experience in the building material industry environment. The position is responsible for handling the accounting activities of the day-to-day operation. Tasks include shipping/receiving entries, matching up paperwork, counting inventory, invoicing charge accounts, accounts receiving, collections and organization of the office space. The Bookkeeper is driven to produce high quality results that create positive impressions for customers both on and offsite.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily transactions – verifying, classifying, recording & posting
- Posting of AR & AP transactions to the appropriate GL Accounts
- Actively monitor paperwork organization and accuracy in the Office
- Diligently follow Checklists, policies, processes & procedures
- Reconciliation of supplier Accounts Payable and customer Accounts Receivable
- Answer phone calls and inquires as received
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Must have completed Grade 12.
- Some prior Bookkeeping and Accounting experience is expected
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated/self-directed, with an ability to work independently using sound judgment, logical reasoning skills, and intuition
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- People skills - polite and professional demeanor when working with others
- Accurate data-entry skills with a high-level of attention to detail
- Flexible, honest, acting in all situations with professionalism and integrity
- Able to deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events in a professional & timely manner
- Permanent resident of Canada with an active Driver’s License is preferred
