Section Manager – Engineering (Tool & Die) – Windsor, Ontario
Forge Consulting Group is currently seeking a Section Manager – Engineering for a well-established tool & die manufacturing facility located in Windsor, Ontario . This full-time, permanent position is ideal for an experienced engineering leader with a background in tool design and automotive stamping.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of engineers and overseeing all aspects of tooling design, process layouts, and customer interface. This role offers a competitive compensation package, excellent benefits, and long-term growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of engineers in developing, testing, and improving technical solutions
- Manage the design and development of progressive and transfer dies based on customer tooling standards
- Review and oversee all process layouts and manage external tool builds
- Supervise the creation and revision of assembly drawings, BOMs, 3D models, and other tooling documentation
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and finishes for accuracy and manufacturability
- Collaborate with engineers to incorporate engineering changes and updates
- Support quotation activities for tooling projects
- Interact with customers regarding tooling standards and project follow-up
- Continuously evaluate and improve existing design and production processes
- Hire, train, and mentor engineering staff
- Review, approve, or modify product designs as needed
- Promote a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Tool Design Supervisor role within the automotive stamping industry
- Post-secondary education in Engineering
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design and solid modeling
- Experience with design software such as Siemens NX, AutoCAD, and AutoForm is an asset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on shop floor experience
