Maple Leaf Disposal is looking for a Lube Technician to come join British Columbia's fastest growing Disposal company. We have an immediate opening 2 Lube Technicians to join our team, shifts would be either afternoons or graveyard. Our priority is to provide our team with a well-maintained fleet of Front End, Roll Off, Rear Load and Delivery vehicles. As part of the maintenance team at Maple Leaf Disposal, you are responsible for ensuring the safety and good working order of all fleet vehicles and work with a crew of technicians. This job requires some technical training and a good deal of physical strength due to the substantial weight of some heavy truck components. The successful candidate must be in good physical shape and able to sustain long days of heavy lifting and wrenching.
Job Description:
- Replace worn or broken parts on all equipment including but not limited to: Pickup trucks, garbage trucks, heavy equipment, and small machines.
- Servicing trucks and equipment and doing preventive maintenance.
- Removing, repairing equipment & truck tires.
- Adjusting brakes and clutches.
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic failures and repair equipment as needed
- Changing oil and other engine fluids as directed
- Chassis lubrication
- Minor repair work such as lights, hoses, and brakes
- Stocking shop equipment and supplies
- Cleaning shop areas and truck cabs
- Manage inventory of spare parts
- Assist the Fleet Manager & Maintenance Manager with our overall Truck Maintenance Program
- Ability to ask questions and learn on the job
- Other tasks as directed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Physical and mental aptitude to perform trade functions.
- Ability to work with others
- Diagnostic tool knowledge would be an asset but not mandatory.
- Able to work evenings starting at 2:00pm Monday to Friday
- Must have and supply all hand tools necessary to perform job duties.
- Must always have and wear steel-toed shoes.
- Class 5 license with air brake endorsement is recommended but not mandatory.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

About Maple Leaf Disposal
We are a Canadian owned waste management company that has provided solid waste and recycling services in the Greater Vancouver area utilizing curb-side garbage collection, curb-side recycling collection, roll-off and front load equipment to service residential, commercial, industrial and institutional customers since 1950s.
Over the past few years, Maple Leaf Disposal has assisted the City of White Rock Public Works Department with the rental of garbage, front load vehicles and recycling trucks to assist the City in completing their routes when they have experience equipment breakdowns and to assist them in recovering their schedules after a statutory holiday.
In the spring of 2009, Maple Leaf Disposal was awarded the contract for commercial & residential containerized waste and cardboard services with the City of Port Moody. The city has been very pleased with the improvement of garbage collection services since the change from their previous contractor.
Early in 2015, Maple Leaf Disposal was awarded the contract for The City of Surrey's Civic Facilities for waste, cardboard and recycling collection
