About the role

Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Crusher Operator In the Sudbury, Ontario Area. This Full-time position comes with competitive wages, a pension, and a benefits package.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Safely operate and maintain crushing and screening plants, stackers, loaders, and other production equipment.
  • Complete daily inspections and pre-ops of equipment
  • Manage and report inventory and production
  • Travel to job locations with overnight stays on occasion
  • Identify, report and correct hazards.
  • Team player and display professionalism toward our company and customers.
  • Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment.
  • Must perform regular cleaning of motor vehicles and mobile equipment to control dust (inside and outside cab).
  • Physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and reaching repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Scheduled shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Valid G Class Driver’s License.
  • Surface Miner Common Core is considered an asset.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience operating heavy equipment including Jaw and Cone crushers as well as Conveyor systems is preferred.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiar with aspects of operating and maintenance of crushing equipment.
  • Ability to manage risks and adapt to unexpected changes.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a cheerful outlook and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external stakeholders.
  • An ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and deal effectively with people using a facilitative approach.
  • Ability to repetitively lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
