About the role
We are seeking a Derivatives Onboarding Specialist to join our Client Onboarding team. This role is ideal for professionals with 1–3 years of experience in the financial services industry, particularly in regulatory onboarding within capital markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring timely and compliant onboarding of derivative clients, supporting both regulatory and internal risk management requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with derivative regulatory obligations and internal risk measures during onboarding, periodic refreshes, and ad hoc reviews.
- Guide clients through regulatory onboarding requirements, including Canadian Derivatives, Dodd-Frank (CFTC & SEC), and EMIR.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Front Office, Credit, Margin, Documentation, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and KYC) to fulfill onboarding requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert on derivatives onboarding for internal teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain and update client data in internal systems (e.g., Fenergo).
- Perform exception management, reconciliations, and data analysis to ensure accurate counterparty mapping.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for process improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Prepare and deliver regular status updates and reports to stakeholders.
- Support ad-hoc projects, data analytics, and regulatory testing as required.
- Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and client-focused culture.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically in regulatory onboarding.
- Strong understanding of Capital Markets and the current regulatory environment.
- Hands-on experience with derivatives onboarding, including Canadian Derivatives, Dodd-Frank (SBS & CFTC), and related global regulations.
- Familiarity with onboarding systems such as Fenergo is an asset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with investment banking clients.
- Knowledge of global regulatory frameworks (e.g., Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia).
- Exposure to cross-functional initiatives involving KYC, offboarding, and remediation.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
