About the Role :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategically minded Accounting Manager to lead the financial reporting and operational accounting efforts. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation and a proven ability to produce clear financial insights and reporting deliverables. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments—especially within small business or private equity-backed organizations —and is comfortable managing financial relationships and partnering with executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
- Lead full-cycle monthly close, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and present monthly financial statements to internal and external stakeholders.
Accounts Receivable:
- Monitor AR aging and drive initiatives to meet DSO targets.
- Oversee collections and guide team performance to optimize cash flow.
Accounts Payable:
- Manage AP systems and processes to ensure efficient, on-time vendor payments.
- Maintain internal controls and compliance across the payables cycle.
Billing Optimization:
- Streamline billing operations to improve process efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement automation tools and strategies to reduce errors and delays.
Inventory Accounting:
- Coordinate periodic inventory counts and investigate variances.
- Ensure accurate inventory costing and alignment with accounting standards.
Job Profitability:
- Maintain reliable job costing and profitability tracking within the ERP system.
- Partner with project teams to analyze and improve margin performance
Financial Reporting & Dashboards:
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements , including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and maintain monthly financial dashboards to monitor KPIs and business performance metrics for internal stakeholders.
- Prepare quarterly Board of Directors presentations , including financial performance summaries, variance analysis, and key business insights.
Banking & Cash Flow:
- Manage banking relationships , including oversight of accounts, loan compliance, and treasury activities.
- Perform regular cash flow analysis and forecasting , ensuring the company maintains optimal liquidity and financial stability.
- Monitor working capital and recommend improvements to enhance cash efficiency.
Strategic & Operational Finance:
- Provide support for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
- Contribute to financial process improvements and assist with the implementation of scalable accounting systems and controls.
IT Support :
- Manage the organization’s software, hardware, and overall IT infrastructure, ensuring systems are available, reliable, secure, and up to date.
- Partner with the CEO to develop the IT budget and oversee vendor relationships to support operational and strategic goals.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or other relevant professional certification is highly preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management.
- Direct experience working with small businesses and/or private equity-backed companies is strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing executive presentations and managing external financial relationships (e.g., banks, auditors, etc.).
Skills:
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial acumen.
- Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., SAGE, MS Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and confidently.
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-changing environment.
