The Musart Cultural Society operates at Deep Cove Music and Arts Centre in North Vancouver, BC V7G 1S3. We have been in business for over 28 years and our goal has always been to have fun while being creative! The business is comprised of:

SUMMER POSITION - MUSART CULTURAL SOCIETY
HIRING: Event Planner & Sound Crew
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- EVENT PLANNING: this position's main priority would be assisting in coordinating our Musart Concert Series that happens on 4 Saturdays in August from 4pm-7pm. This includes recruiting and booking artists and obtaining sponsors to reach sponsorship goals. The concerts will feature original songwriters performing in three sets of 3. Sometimes original bands are accepted too.
- SOUND CREW: this position also will act as one of the Sound Crew on the 4 Saturday Concerts in August in Panorama Park. This includes set up of instruments, sound mixing, MCing and take down. Set up starts at 1pm-4pm, Concert is 4pm-7pm, wrap up is 7pm-8pm.
- SUMMER CAMPS: This job may include assisting Camp Leaders for the BandFactory Jam Camp 101 (ages 7-12), BandFactory Jam Camp 201 (ages 10-18) and Summer Arts Film Camp as required. These camps run weekly in July and August Monday to Friday from 9am - 3pm and 9am - 4pm.
COLLABORATION WITH OTHER TEAM MEMBERS:
- PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATIONAL PLANNING DIRECTOR: This position will help and collaborate with the Director to manage and execute their tasks when needed.
- CAMP LEADERS: this position will also assist the with camps and programs itineraries when needed
- MARKETING MANAGER: Collaborating with the Marketing Manager when needed.
- EVENT PLANNER: This position will also be able to help with our event planner co-ordinate the Musart Concert Series
CANADA SUMMER JOBS GRANT
These positions are funded by the Canada Summer Jobs grant.
- REMUNERATION: The positions are funded based on what we are granted - this comes to around $5,000 for the summer. Details will be discussed in the interview.
- REQUIREMENTS:
- Driver’s License (preferred)
- The employee that will be hired as a participant of the Canada Summer Jobs program must:
(a) be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
(b) be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
(c) be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
Job Types: Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: $17.83-$20.30 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
