Northern Gateway Public Schools invites applications for a Full-time or Part-time Education Assistant at Rochfort Bridge Colony School and another NGPS School.
Successful Candidate Responsibilities
- Working with students one-on-one within the Hutterite Colony of Rochfort Bridge and working with students in another NGPS school to be determined
Preference Will Be Given To Candidates Who
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students
- Work collaboratively and co-operatively with teacher in the classroom/school
- Understand and carry out oral and written direction
- Work independently with minimal instruction
- Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills
- Respect confidentiality
- Are able to provide personal hygiene care to students; this may include food preparation, dressing, grooming and/or toileting
- Are able to assist students with mobilization (walking, guidance in hallway, stairs or playground equipment)
- Are able to manipulate assisted devices if necessary (braces, fasteners on clothing, seatbelts)
- Are able to support students with potential physical or medical needs, mental health, social emotion needs
- Are able to support students with communication devices
- Are able to follow recommendations from service providers under guidance of a teacher
- Are aware of NGPS policies and administrative procedures
- Have an understanding of the teaching/learning process
- Have strong interpersonal skills and patience
- have reliable transportation to and from the Rochfort Bridge Hutterite Colony
Start Date:
- September 2, 2025
Hours:
- 17.5 to 35 hours per week based on availability of successful candidate
