Job Summary
The Lift Operations Supervisor leads a team of 30+ seasonal Lift Operator Leads and Lift Operators and supports management by providing effective supervision of Lift Operations as it relates to product, people and experience. This role oversees staffing and scheduling, upholds safety and operational standards, and provides direct leadership and training across the team. This position is ideally suited to a seasoned supervisor with a strong track record in operations management, combined with a commitment to safety, productivity and efficiency, team spirit and guest experience. As part of our leadership operations, you’ll help create a mountain environment that is united by adventure, empowered by community.
Job Specifications
- Wage: Based on experience
- Schedule: Full-time, including weekends and holidays
- Skill Level: Supervisory / Experienced
- Reports To: Outside Operations Manager
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee Lift Operator Leads and Lift Operators in day-to-day lift operations
- Daily quality control checks of all operating lifts, mazes and lift ramps on the mountain
- Identify and report issues or hazards related to lifts promptly
- Schedule and coordinate Lift Operations and Leads training and administration
- Follow the Operational Manual to ensure safe and consistent lift setup, operation, and teardown
- Operate company equipment in accordance with safety protocols and procedures
- Maintain accurate operational records in compliance with legislation and company policy including daily lift logs, stop logs and training records
- Ensure lift operations meet CSA Z98 code, current regulations, and CWSAA best practices
- Enforce company radio communication standards and protocols
- Assist with the transport of guests and equipment when required
- Provide support during emergency situations and incident response
- Lead seasonal and mid-season training for lift operations staff
- Promote and model safe work practices and professional behavior
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Strong, independent leadership skills with the proven track record for retaining and motivating high-performance teams
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Flexible multitasker with ability to balance team and operational requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of mountain weather conditions
- Strong administrator, proficient with Microsoft Office and basic scheduling/communication software
- Intermediate to advanced skiing or snowboarding ability preferred
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical outdoor tasks
- Previous lift operations experience preferred
- Knowledge of CSA Z98 Code preferred
- Previous snowmobile experience is an asset
- Guest experience champion and ambassador for Sasquatch Mountain Resort
