What You’ll Focus On
- Building and supporting a collaborative team of accounting professionals—ensuring clarity, mentorship, and continuous improvement
- Overseeing the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring the numbers are not only accurate but meaningful
- Reviewing and approving reconciliations, journal entries, and key financial reports to ensure completeness and compliance
- Taking ownership of budgeting inputs, tax reporting cycles (in both the U.S. and Canada), and internal reviews related to indirect taxes
- Leading the company through year-end audits and acting as the key liaison for external auditors
- Monitoring and reviewing insurance policies and risk coverage, identifying adjustments as needed
- Implementing best-in-class internal controls across payment systems, expense tracking, inventory, and more
- Working cross-functionally to deliver actionable analysis, reporting, and insights that support big-picture decision-making
- Assisting in financial operations related to store locations, inventory flows, and high-volume transactional data
- Partnering with FP&A to provide deep-dive financial analysis and support ongoing forecasting needs
What You Bring to the Table
- A CPA designation (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3–5 years in a post-designation role, ideally in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment
- Experience handling both U.S. and Canadian financial/tax reporting (preferred but not mandatory)
- Strong leadership instincts—you know how to build trust, develop talent, and get the best from your team
- Excellent command of financial systems and controls, with an eye for process improvement
- A high level of accuracy, accountability, and professional integrity
- Experience with ERP systems (Sage X3 is a plus, but not required)
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and a culture that values both autonomy and collaboration
