The Centre for Business, Arts, and Sciences (CBAS) delivers a range of certificate, diploma, university transfer, including A’paitsitapisksinimaattsaa (Weasel People Education), Business Administration, Administrative Office Professional, General Arts and Science, Agriculture Science, Environment Science and Academic Upgrading, together with service courses to students in many other Lethbridge Polytechnic programs

The Centre seeks to recruit to the position of Senior Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Dean on a 15-month term contract to cover for a maternity leave. The successful applicant would have the background, expertise, and proven ability to provide confidential, professional, and advanced administrative support to the Dean, Centre for Business, Arts and Sciences. Under limited supervision, the position requires exceptional time management, organizational, project management, planning and priority-setting skills. The successful candidate must also possess the ability to exercise sound judgment, particularly in the handling and delivery of confidential and time-sensitive material.

Position Details

The Senior Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the daily operations of the Office of the Dean and collaborating with administrative staff within the Centre and across campus. The position’s main priority is administrative support to the Dean and Associate Dean, in addition to assisting with Centre budget functions, managing the faculty and staff evaluation process, organizing and maintaining the Dean’s calendar, arranging and coordinating meetings and other events in the Centre and taking minutes where appropriate. The successful candidate will possess an ability to work effectively with all members of the CBAS community (staff, students and faculty) and make a positive contribution as a member of the Centre’s administrative team.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Administrative Office Professional Diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred, and 3-5 years of progressively responsible administrative assistant experience in an office environment

  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with a variety of internal and external clients in a professional manner

  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency in MS Office Software including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Familiarity with Lethbridge Polytechnic’s values and culture, and a commitment to work towards our institutional goals with positivity and enthusiasm

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary administrative experience

Salary

AUPE Class Level 9 Step 1 $27.42/hr
