Pearson College UWC is recruiting for an outstanding Bartender

Reporting to: Events Coordinator

Position Summary:

This position will assist in the coordination and execution of bartending logistics for our summer reunions at Pearson College.

The Reunion Bartender will work closely with a variety of college staff and departments to provide support to the College’s Summer and Auxiliary Programming. As an integral part of the team, the applicant will provide logistical support to Pearson College reunions and other summer programming. The incumbent will provide safe service of alcohol to participants and work with staff to fulfill the goals of the College during the summer period.

Responsibilities:

· Prepare wine, draft or bottled beer and non-alcoholic beverages and serve directly to reunion attendees

· Maintain inventory and control of bar stock and order supplies

· Clean bar area and wash glassware

· Provide safe service for reunion attendees

· Report directly to the Events Coordinator and support their leadership in coordinating event operations and assisting with the planning and execution of Pearson Reunions.

· Provide logistical support for summer programs, balance different priorities, and work independently.

· Available to work a flexible schedule dependent on summer commitments and operational needs.

· Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operations of the College.

Skills & Qualifications

· A currently valid Serving it Right certificate is required

· Must be legally able to serve alcohol in Canada

· Experience working in a bar or alcohol service.

· Experience in safe liquor service and comfortable exercising their right to not overserve.

· Experience in working in event setup and/or food and beverage industry

· Experience working with the public in educational settings (knowledge of Pearson campus is an asset).

· Exemplary customer service skill is an asset

· Excellent communication and works well with team members. Problem-solving skills and adaptability. Creative, quick-thinking, detail-oriented, and energetic.

· Ability to work independently and show strong initiative.

· Enjoys working with diverse groups, including children.

· Flexible schedule to meet summer and operational needs.

Compensation & Organization

This is a temporary, part-time position with hours varied depending on the needs of the college (ranges from 0 to 35 hours per week from Friday, August 1 – Sunday, August 17, 2025). Located at Pearson College UWC in Metchosin, approximately 40 minutes from downtown Victoria, BC. The hourly rate is $21.00. Complimentary meals are provided when the dining hall is open.
