Estimated AMS Appointments Available: 2 to 3 with 24 hour-long lessons per AMS appointment.
Sessional Dates: September 2025 to April 2026
Salary: $110.45/hour
Qualifications: Graduate degree in horn performance or equivalent professional experience. Doctoral degree preferred. Ongoing performing activities encompassing a wide range of solo and chamber repertoire. Demonstrated excellence educating horn at the university level.
Duties: Define lesson objectives and materials; provide clear guidelines on studio requirements and regulations; teach lessons as scheduled; administer and evaluate student progress through assigned repertoire and exercises; ensure that the Brass Area and Performance Division requirements are met in regard to culminating juries and recitals; prepare and submit final grade and comments in accordance with policy and scheduled deadlines; maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours.
