General Internist (200-1692)
The Division of Internal Medicine at the West Coast General Hospital has an opportunity for a 3 full-time General Internist.
The successful candidate will provide full spectrum of General Internal Medicine including full Intensive Care and Coronary Care capabilities to a 45,000 population referral base. Cardiac Stress testing, pulmonary function, 24-hour holter and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring capabilities are available on site.
West Coast General Hospital is a modern hospital (built in 2001) with 52 acute care beds (3 ICU). Clinical services include 24-hour emergency room, ambulatory care, acute medical/surgical and psychiatry services, cardio pulmonary, diabetes education, laboratory, medical imaging (CT scanner), nutrition counseling, pharmacy and physiotherapy services. Clinical specialists include anesthesiology, general surgery, urology, obstetrics/gynecology, internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics and radiology complete with PACs imaging system.
Interest in teaching and supervision of medical learners is an asset (requires eligibility for faculty appointment with UBC).
There is an opportunity to join a thriving outpatient practice in addition with the Alberni Internal Medicine (AIM) clinic.

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:
- Recruitment Incentive - $10,000
- Fee Premium - 7.98%;
- Annual Flat Fee - $12,110.22
- Rural CME starting at $2200/annum in year 3&4 in community, increasing to a maximum of $4400/annum after 4 years.
