BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAM COORDINATOR - MATERNITY LEAVE
About the role
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Red Deer and District, a mentoring organization for children and youth, is seeking a highly-motivated Program Coordinator to work 37.5 hrs/week. The successful applicant will be responsible for matching volunteer mentors with children and youth and providing on-going support and supervision to established mentoring relationships. The position also involves planning and facilitating monthly activity-based group programming. Some occasional evenings and weekends will be required. This is a one-year maternity leave position expected to end on August 1st, 2026.
The ideal candidate must possess:

Minimum of two-year diploma in a human services field and one-year related experience

Current Certificate in/or to obtain during probationary period: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training and Standard First Aid & CPR

Strong public relations and marketing skills
-
Able to establish strong positive working relationships with children, youth, parents, volunteers, co-workers, and other programs and agencies in the community.

Experience with documentation, interviewing, and administrative functions
-
Volunteer management experience
-
Case management experience
-
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and data base skills
-
Class 5 Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle
-
Willingness to obtain Class 4 Drivers Licence
-
Successful completion of agency enrollment process including Vulnerable Sector and Intervention Record Checks
Starting Wage: $41,869.84-$46,161.50 yearly
