Job Description
The ScotiaMcLeod Branch Systems Administrator / Operations Assistant’s primary focus is to provide support to Branch Management and Advisor teams, ensuring efficient operations from a banking and technology framework as well as acting as the first point of contact for clients arriving at the branch.
The incumbent contributes to the overall success of the branch ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
Manage the Technology administration (workstations, voice communications and multi functioning devices):
- Ensure technology is running efficiently by serving as the primary contact for technical issues and any technology rollouts liaising with the Help Desk, Technology Training team as needed; and any internal and external providers of multi-functioning devices
- Maintain staff reports and inventory lists
Ensure operational effectiveness for the Branch:
- Manage all banking functions including processing of incoming deposits or outgoing withdrawals
- Manage all non-trade and account maintenance functions
- Oversight and maintenance of branch mail and postage machine, internal mail and couriers
- Facilitate the submission and document retention procedures as required
- Coordinate building facilities maintenance and supply ordering through approved vendors
Ensure a high level of client service:
- Greet clients in-person and answer all incoming calls to the branch and triage as appropriate
- Manage Meeting/Boardroom bookings for external and internal meetings
- Maintain an understanding of Compliance Regulations

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft systems: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Previous industry experience and/or Banking background preferred
- Post-Secondary education
