About the role
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior DevOps Automation Engineer for a contract role. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in DevOps, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and systems support across complex environments. This role requires both hands-on technical leadership and the ability to collaborate across teams to streamline and secure software delivery pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, install, configure, and troubleshoot critical DevOps infrastructure and application environments.

Lead the automation of deployment pipelines and infrastructure provisioning using modern IaC and configuration tools.

Partner with Developers, QA, and Operations teams to identify and resolve deployment or infrastructure issues quickly and effectively.
-
Actively contribute to Agile planning (Kanban/Scrum), estimation, and delivery activities.
-
Participate in an on-call rotation, providing support during off-hours and weekends when needed.
-
Continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve system stability, performance, and availability.
-
Lead efforts to ensure security best practices are embedded in automation and deployment processes.

Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Maintain and improve documentation for system architecture, tools, and operational procedures.

Promote a culture of DevOps excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience in DevOps, automation, or infrastructure engineering roles.

Strong experience administering Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments, including tuning, hardening, and high availability setups.

Deep understanding of CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Urban Code Deploy.
-
Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or OpenStack.
-
Advanced hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
-
Solid understanding of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including architecture and service integration.

Proficient in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

Admin-level experience with tools like Artifactory (Nexus/JFrog), GitLab, Jira, and Confluence.

Experience with monitoring and logging platforms (ELK, Splunk, Zabbix, Prometheus).

Expertise in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, PHP, or Python.
-
Strong knowledge of networking concepts and infrastructure security.

Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git).

Familiarity with Agile/SAFe development methodologies.
