Financial Manager (Manufacturing)
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Manager (Manufacturing) with a CPA designation to join our client's finance team in Brampton, ON.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports in accordance with ASPE or IFRS (as applicable)
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants
- Monitor internal controls and improve accounting procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations (GST/HST, corporate tax filings, etc.)
- Support the CFO/Controller in financial planning and strategic initiatives
- Mentor and supervise accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development
Qualifications:
- CPA designation is required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience , including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP/ASPE and/or IFRS
- Proficient with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
