Role Description:
We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager who is hands on, results driven and detailed oriented with experience leading analytics data lake migration projects in a large enterprise level organization. The Project Manager will be working in a dynamic and high-paced environment, leading a team of internal and third-party resources through the activities and deliverables of the project. The project manager has overall responsibility for the successful completion of the project.
The candidate must be versatile, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating work between different teams at different locations/time zones, and monitoring progress and adherence to third-party contracts.
The Project Manager will adhere to PMO processes and will work with our partners to define a project work breakdown structure, staffing needs, monitor deliverable completion, and track schedules. They are responsible for creating the project work plan and maintaining control of the project scope, estimates, schedule, costs, and dependencies.
The Senior Analytics Project Manager will provide updates to key stakeholders and Sponsors with progress reports including risks, issues, decisions, and recommendations for adjustments, as necessary. They ensure timely communication of relevant project information to all affected team members, including changes to plans, team structure, and commitments. This role requires strong leadership skills to guide and support a diverse team, lead through influence (including indirect reports), and ensure that the project team follows all internal processes related to Change management and Project Governance.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience managing large-scale IT analytics projects, including successful delivery of at least two full-scale analytics migration solutions.
- Strong understanding of data lakes, data integration, data modeling, and analytics lifecycle within SAP and Microsoft ecosystems (SAP BW, Power BI, Synapse, Azure Data Factory).
- Familiarity with DevOps, security, and governance practices in cloud-based analytics deployments.
- Microsoft certifications related to Fabric, Azure, or Power BI are a strong asset.
- Leading fit-gap analysis of global reports and defining functional specifications for new reporting requirements.
- Understands the concepts and business benefits of implementing an enterprise level Data Lake with SAP data.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams across multiple geographical locations.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including third-party vendors.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, and adherence to PMO governance frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making skills.
- The PM obtains required signoffs for deliverables from stakeholders and ensures all expectations are met.
- Take all necessary steps to avoid budget overruns.
- Organize "gate" meetings to ensure readiness to move to the next project phase.
- Conduct project follow-up meetings to monitor progress, issues, and risks.
