About the role

Some of what you will do:

The FP&A Manager will liaise closely with the senior leadership team to develop, interpret and implement financial and accounting concepts to strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting to drive business results and cost control. Drives, tracks and supports management of yearly targets. Continuously identifies and recommends all necessary actions to improve the financial performance and efficiency of the business. Participates in the strategic business planning for the organization. Manages and mentors an analyst, providing guidance and coaching on financial reporting, modelling and analysis in support of company objectives.

Specifically, You Will:

  • Oversee and support all cost centres including communicating deadlines and expectations with business partners, works with individual partner to determine proper month end accruals and update forecast.
  • Direct the business performance & planning functions including general & administration cost analytics.
  • Oversee the full cycle budget process and help home office departments on the long-range plan model.
  • Partner with department leadership teams to develop strategic multi-year plans, supporting the development of strategy and long-term plans.
  • Ensure high employee engagement at every level through effective motivation, coaching, training, and development of associates on the team.
  • Ensures alignment with the organizational strategic directions and financial operating plan.
  • The Manager is expected to actively lead and/or participate in various process and system improvement initiatives, special projects and ad hoc analysis. Creates and reviews analysis and reports of financial and operating data.

Some of what you need:

  • University degree (B.A.) with commerce/business administration focus or equivalent in work experience is required.
  • Exceptional financial analytical ability skills preferably developed in a retail environment
  • High proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel, Word and PowerPoint mandatory and experience in building Excel Macros is preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Analyst or similar role, including budgeting and planning experience.
  • Experience in retail, particularly multiple-location/national and multi-channel retail is an asset.
  • 10+ years of broad-based operational finance experience with progressive responsibility and a strong focus on FP&A. Minimum of 5-8 years successfully leading, managing, and developing a team.
